Introduction to Image Processing and Computer Vision with OpenCV

Galvanize 515 East Grant Street , Phoenix, AZ (map)

**Please RSVP HERE also (**

Computer vision and image recognition are growing fields. However, before you can really dive into this fun world you need to understand a very important image package called OpenCV. In this workshop, we will create our own image processing toolkit with OpenCV and start out by learning more about image manipulation. Things like exposing only the red, green, or blue channel of an image is relatively easy with OpenCV. Then we will look more at some of the video features and applications of OpenCV. Lastly, we will work with some pre-built computer vision models and show how to integrate that easily with OpenCV.

Chris Huie ( is the Galvanize Phoenix evangelist. You can usually find him around town at local meetups or working the overnight shift at hackathons. When he isn't supporting the Phoenix dev and data science communities you can usually find him chilling with his English Bulldog writing Python or JavaScript.
