With all the other great WordPress Meetups, there is lots of fantastic content (which you should check out on the website (http://www.arizonawp.org)), so here is what you can expect from our meetups...
Our focus is to help beginners to power-users with:
• Fast/Convenient/Easy ways to work with WordPress (and still do it right)
• What to do once you have a site (i.e. how to get people to your site, a.k.a. marketing)
Of course, we are here to help you get all your WordPress questions answered too.
Introductions: Who are you? What are you working on? What brings you to the meetup?
Open Forum — This is the time to ask your questions, share a new favorite tool/plugin/website, blog or twitter feed you follow or tell us about an upcoming event
Rent vs Own - Choosing where to house your online content.
Kathy Zant - https://www.wordfence.com/
Brandy Lawson - https://fieryfx.com/
With so many options, there’s no shortage of ways to get content online. Social media (Facebook & Instagram), Content aggregators (Medium) or hosted site builders (WordPress.com, Wix & Squarespace) are all easy ways to focus on writing and ditch the tech complexity.
However, there’s no free lunch.
Whether you “rent” or “own” there’s more to consider than how fast you launch.
Join us to talk about examples of companies that made choices and lived to regret them, and what to consider when deciding where your content lives.
(this segment will be video recorded and displayed on the WordFence Podcast. https://www.wordfence.com/podcast/)
Sharing WordPress content to Social Media
Mark Rudder - https://www.onsitewp.com
Amplification of Content on Social Media platforms is an excellent way to attract visitors to your website, establish authority, and build your brand.
Mark will demonstrate the Blog2Social plugin which makes sharing content to multiple social media platforms easy and fast. It also has a scheduler which helps in automating content sharing.
This concept works for any type of content and website, whether blog post, product sales, news topics or events, etc.
General networking, chit-chatting, cleanup, and head out.
Elevate closes at 9PM, so we usually head over to a local restaurant for some snacks, beverages (adult and otherwise) and more great conversation.
