Candid Conversations over Coffee
This months guest speaker will be Erik Ibarra, Founder of health-tech startups ORDRS.io.
Join us for the rebrand and reboot of OpenCoffee to “Houston Unfiltered”! We’re bringing you a new speaker each month to help spark frank discussion and build a community of entrepreneurs, investors, and techies interested in supporting and learning from one another — without filters, self-editing or judgement. Each monthly morning meetup will feature a local leader who has ventured down the startup path and will open up about their lessons learned, how they failed forward, won big, faced tough decisions, and everything in between.
As an interactive program, participants are encouraged to ask questions and share their own experiences and insights. The types of topics you can expect: breaking up with a cofounder, relationships and family as an entrepreneur, the latest adventures in failing forward, team challenges and self-worth, and how to stay motivated during adversity.
Join us for real talk with real people!
MORE ABOUT OUR SPEAKER
Erik Ibarra is a serial entrepreneur and product development expert. He is the founder of health-tech startup ORDRS.io, the first API for direct to consumer lab testing companies. Erik has built innovative products, services and businesses in the restaurant, transportation, legal and healthcare industries. Notable accomplishments include REV, a disruptive transportation service that garnered the attention of industry incumbents and lawmakers years before Uber. He also designed the first mobile application for traffic tickets in 2013.
Erik has co-founded 3 healthcare companies in which he was a part of two digital health accelerators. His passion lies in innovative healthcare companies who wish to redraw the intersection between making a difference and making a profit.
Erik is an active mentor at Station Houston and serves on the governing board of Houston Exponential, the Buffalo Bayou Partnership East Sector committee, the University of Houston Downtown Alumni Council and is a lifelong resident of Houston’s historic East End.
Houston Unfiltered meets at Station (http://stationhouston.com). Station aims to transform Houston into a thriving hub for world-changing innovation. We're building a creative work environment and collaborative community for startups that leverage software-/web-enabled solutions to solve difficult --seemingly impossible -- problems, while imagining a future that unlocks new possibilities and effects profound impact.
