Public Houses are where people used to gather to grab a pint and talk about events of the day. It was how people communicate, collaborate and shared ideas because they were public and open to everyone. Over time, they shorten the name to Pubs.
Join us at our Monthly Packard Place Public House - for pints, networking, and sharing what's going on with you, as well as a "keg-side chat" with a local founder! This month's featured founder is Angel Rutledge with SignUpGenius.
Angel Rutledge’s Bio:
Angel Rutledge owes her titles of COO, CMO and former CFO of SignUpGenius to the fact that building a successful tech startup requires a diverse set of skills. As CMO, Angel leads the marketing strategy and built the brand to become the largest group organizing tool, serving 77 million users in 2018. She got her start as COO by scrubbing the office toilet and has since scaled the company to 32 employees and established a culture code, operational processes and benefits that have earned SignUpGenius a spot on the Best Employers in North Carolina list for the past three years. In her role as Chief Financial Officer until mid-2017, Angel led the company’s efforts to secure a strategic majority investment, all thanks to her mad skills of balancing a checkbook. While working alongside her husband to launch SignUpGenius has been incredibly fun, her favorite three letter title has been serving as MOM to their four kids. Angel credits this role for helping to grow the tech company’s staff with equal representation from women, including in leadership roles.
SignUpGenius, the leading online sign up service for event and volunteer management, is a one-stop organizing solution that eliminates the need for paper sign ups and “reply-all” emails. With up to 14 million unique users each month, the SaaS tool helps people change the world by making it simple to organize groups. People turn to SignUpGenius for everything from organizing work potlucks to coordinating large-scale disaster relief efforts. The award-winning sign up service is used by nonprofits, schools, sports teams, businesses, churches, colleges and other organizations. Named one of the fastest-growing private companies in Charlotte, SignUpGenius has placed in the Charlotte Business Journal’s Fast 50 for three years in a row. The company was bootstrapped until one year ago when the founders accepted a strategic investment from Providence Strategic Growth, a private equity firm targeting investments in lower middle market technology-enabled service companies.
