Hello again, technology thought leaders of Syracuse!
Please join us for our final get together on Thursday, October 18th @ The Technology Garden at 5:15pm in the GENIUS NY area for a follow-up meeting regarding our curriculum for the 24-week FREE Careers in Code Bootcamp!
A few weeks ago, we surveyed local employers to get their thoughts and feedback to help inform our curriculum. To date, we’ve received 12 responses from 10 different employers. We’ll use this data to have a discussion around the curriculum and how it should be structured.
We’d like to focus on these questions:
1) After completing the bootcamp our students should be able to do A, B, and C.
2) For them to be able to do A, B, and C after ~24 weeks of instruction, we're going to teach X, Y, and Z concepts using these languages and frameworks.
This will be the final in-person get together with everyone before we tighten up the curriculum/structure. We’ll also have a video dial-in for folks that cannot attend in person. Pizza and drinks will be served!
After this discussion, Jesse and Doug will huddle up and map out the curriculum and structure based on the feedback and thoughts. We'll then transition into interviewing and hiring instructors and mapping your interests and availabilities to the curriculum and structure of the program (please be sure to apply when you can if you haven't already - https://careersincode.org/apply/instructors.html). If you’ve already applied - hang tight - we’ll be following up in a few weeks.
