JavaScript I

Academy Pittsburgh 753 East Warrington Avenue , Pittsburgh, (map)

This course is from 1pm to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Javascript is the next step for developers who know HTML and CSS and want to learn how to make interactive web pages with forms, animations, and more.

This class is an introduction to programming with JavaScript, so you'll learn the basics like variables, objects, methods, functions, and data types. Don't know what these are, or struggle to understand them when reading online tutorials? Then you're the perfect student for this class!

We'll cover the basics of programming, write our own functions, use web forms to get input from the user to manipulate data, plus learn some basics of jQuery (a very popular JavaScript library). Students will understand the fundamentals of programming and be able to manipulate HTML elements at the end of this class.

This class is taught by Josh Sager.

Prerequisites: You should have a working knowledge of HTML before taking this course. This course is aimed at beginners only, so we do not recommend it for experienced developers.

Students are required to bring their own laptop for classes. If you do not have a laptop, please contact us at [masked] before registering, and we’ll see if we can work something out.

If you are interested in attending, but cannot afford the full class cost, please fill out our scholarship form (http://goo.gl/0ITb7j).

This course is from 1pm to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday. Please only register if you can make both sessions.
