Canal Convergence 2018 Launch Party kicks off 10 consecutive days of wonder at Scottsdale Public Art’s annual confluence of water + art + light with large-scale, interactive artworks; hands-on activities and workshops; artist talks; live music and dance performances.
This outdoor event is free, general admission and standing room only.
Concert by New Orleans-based recording artists Dirty Dozen Brass Band, with the Sara Robinson Band opening.
Experience the first firing of the Floatus fire show by Phoenix’s own Walter Productions before Canal Convergence officially starts November 9th. The Walter Project will offer 28 fire shows during the 10-day Canal Convergence event. When the flames are not firing, attendees will be invited to interact with a console that controls the LED lights within each Floatus blossom.
Preview all the public art installations located at points along the Scottsdale Waterfront and surrounding streets.
Local favorite food trucks will be on site with beverages available for purchase from the Two Brothers Beer and Wine Tent. This year the Beer, Wine and Food Garden will be expanded to encompass the entire plaza area and Soleri Bridge.
Soleri Plaza is at the Scottsdale Waterfront on the west side of Scottsdale Road, just south of Camelback Road. This is an outdoor venue. Attendees should wear comfortable shoes and layered clothing appropriate for an evening in November.
