Launching paper lanterns with a large crowd listening to loud music has become a popular "bucket list" experiential event in the US, but has been a thing in Asia for many centuries as part of special occasions. RSVP to show interest in our carpool, fire pit, tailgate party, etc.

You get only one lantern per adult ticket, so follow directions carefully, take your time to do your prayers, make your wishes, say your proposal (or get married as one couple did last time). It might be possible to bring your own lantern to launch there (more on that later).

There are other costs:

$10.00 per car parking (free parking nearby)

Things to consider:

Expect long lines for food trucks, bring cash

No outside food, except "water" in non-glass containers

No lanterns can be taken past guards at exits

No shade in fire pit area

No cell coverage

No power outlets

No light in the portapotty, bring flashlight

Bring jacket or blanket to keep warm

Bring folding chairs or something to sit on

Bring ear plugs for sensitive eyes
