Join the Phoenix Linux Users Group at their Security Session to learn about why the internet is a terrible place now. We will be discussing how the internet has turned into a tool for surveillance, monitoring, and the constant delivery of malware and other exploits. We will discuss how others are creating alternative 'networks' and how technology from the 70's could be used to help reduce our reliance on corporate backers for access to the web. We will learn about Packet Radio, Mesh Networks, and other forms of digital communication that are effective community builders. Hope to see you there!
The Meetings will be on the 3rd Thursday of every month, starting at 7pm, at the Desert Breeze Substation located in Chandler AZ (Same location as the regular PLUG meeting).
