You've heard that WordPress sites can get hacked – but what does that mean? And why does it matter? In this session, we'll go over how hackers choose a WordPress instance to hack, what the hack looks like in the WordPress code itself, and then how that hack actually works. After this talk, you should be able to identify a hack – and possibly understand what it's trying to do.
When everyone else was outside, Aaron Saray was sitting in the basement learning to program on an old Commodore 64. Fast-forward more than 2½ decades later, and he’s still going. From political campaigns, insurance, the auto industry and advertising companies, Aaron has played the role of programmer, team leader, dev manager and security advocate. He’s passionate that others not repeat his mistakes, the hard lessons he’s learned over his career so far, so he’s chronicled them in his online book, "33 Things I Wish Somebody Would Have Told Me". You can also find over 8 years of technical, security and career-related articles here.
C2 has generously arranged for us to use their shared basement conference room on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
This Meetup will be at C2 Graphics Productivity Solutions in Walker's Point:
Go to the BASEMENT where we have a conference room reserved. Do NOT go to the C2 offices on the 6th floor.
