"Internet of Things" devices connected to Azure: what, how and why?

Station Houston (new location!) 1301 Fannin Suite 2440 , Houston, TX (map)

The "Internet of Things" is all the rage and has been building momentum for several years now. This evening's discussion will focus on the services and features in Azure that can be used to make the multitude of IoT use cases possible with the least amount of effort, how they can be enabled and also some of the things you can do with them.

This session will be heavy on demos of real-world devices connected to Azure, and light on slides. Developers, Infrastructure folks, technology leaders, DevOps aficionados, IT leaders and Architects or just anyone wishing to learn are all welcome to bring all your solution Architecture, security, developer and infrastructure questions, and join in the discussion!

Your speaker this afternoon is Jim Reid, a Cloud Architect at Microsoft. Jim will answer all questions anyone may have along the way. This will be an interactive, demo-heavy session and minimal prior knowledge on all of these topics is assumed.
