Netsquared Houston: Storymakers 2017!

Station Houston 1301 Fannin St, Suite 2440 , Houston, TX (map)

Calling all do-gooders, storytellers, tech experts, leaders, activists, nonprofits, fundraisers, and everyone interested in using technology for progress: Join us for Storymakers 2017!

Telling great stories is vital to connecting with your audience. But how do you find great stories? How do you shape and share them in compelling ways that capture and inspire your audience? Join us for an exciting evening of experts sharing their storytelling best practices.

***This event will be broken into two parts:

The first 20-30 minutes will feature a discussion with experts in multimedia storytelling, followed by Q&A. For the second part, we'll go through the storytelling process, where you'll learn how to craft a compelling narrative and create short videos, audio, and powerful photographs to bring it to life. Date: September 20, 2017

Time: 6:15 pm - 8:15 pm

Location: Station Houston, 1301 Fannin, Suite 2440

Cost: Free, but space is limited and RSVP is required.

This NetSquared event is part of TechSoup’s storytelling campaign, Storymakers 2017, which is focused on building capacity for NGOs to use storytelling to create assets for fundraising and advocacy. TechSoup will be announcing its annual competition shortly, and we encourage everyone to consider submitting a video.

Newbies will find a friendly, welcoming atmosphere with many opportunities to learn from tech-experienced nonprofits and experts.

Technologists, funders and service providers will be able to put their super powers to good use and grow lasting relationships with leading organizations in the community.

Activists and leaders will share how they use technology for social change: We'll learn the true potential for tech through specific case studies, examine where and how community organizing can be improved, and explore where we'll have to push technology forward.
