Miriam Suzanne, Co-Founder at OddBird; Code Patterns for Pattern-Making

Galvanize 1062 Delaware Street , Denver, CO 80204 (map)

Style Guides & Pattern Libraries are great tools for documenting the relationships between code and design, but beautiful docs are only half the battle. Behind the scenes those patterns have to live in our code, and make life easier for developers. Let's talk about how we build patterns in code, and how we can use them to automate our style guides, and incorporate pattern-making into our daily routines.

- Using pre-processors for pattern-making in CSS and HTML.

- Designing and integrating toolkits that force pattern-making.

- Examples of what we've done at OddBird, where we've failed, and where we're headed

Miriam Suzanne is a web developer and user-experience designer, project-manager, author, speaker, and musician – working with OddBird, Teacup Gorilla, CSS Tricks, and anyone who loves open-source collaboration. She’s a co-author of Jump Start Sass, creator of the Susy and True web toolkits, and a regular speaker on topics from CSS layout and architecture to collaborative process.
