Building a Serverless Application in AWS

Tech Elevator 7100 Euclid Ave., Suite 140 , Cleveland, OH (map)

Tech Elevator will host Nate Springer, who will present building a serverless application on Amazon Web  Services (AWS). (Our previously scheduled presenter had to cancel, and Nate has graciously stepped in.)

In Nate's own words:

"In this talk, we'll go through what is necessary to build a completely serverless full-stack application in AWS. We will show, using a working example, how to host a dynamic website on S3 backed by API Gateway and Lambda with data stored in DynamoDB. This model provides a highly-available and highly-scalable application at potentially lower cost as compared to traditional server-based infrastructures."

Presenter:

Nate Springer is currently a Sr Software Engineer working primarily in on DevOps. Nate has been a developer for 18 years, and has a MS degree in CS from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Nate is an avid entrepreneur having worked on several (not so successful) startups, and he is an unabashed AWS fanboy.

Directions:

Tech Elevator is located inside the Baker Electric Building, Suite 140. Free parking will be available in the gated lot behind (south side) the building, accessible from East 71st Street. There is also a Health Line stop directly in front of the building at the corner of East 71st and Euclid Ave. Entrance is at the back of the building.
